About Us
Miller Hospice is a locally owned, non-profit care provider that is committed to caring for the body, mind, and spirit of each individual along with his or her family. Being local and a non-profit are both important because it means the patient care is our priority, ensuring excellent, compassionate care. This is evident by the low patient-to-staff ratio, very low staff turnover, and our very high patient satisfaction scores that we consistently receive.
We are a service of the Zarrow Pointe, but we serve people of all denominations, nationalities, races and creeds. As a non-profit, our patients will never pay for our services, even if they are not eligible for Medicare or private insurance coverage.
We are committed to provide:
Patient care and quality service are our highest priorities and primary reason for existence. We will be the leader in quality care in each community we serve.
Miller Hospice will respond to referrals quickly, gather patient clinical data to evaluate for hospice eligibility, and if appropriate, admit the patient. Miller Hospice specializes in after hours and weekend admissions.
We will provide compassionate, timely, and effective pain and symptom management to patients and offer support to their families, 24 hours a day. Miller Hospice cares for our patients and families with dignity and respect as if they were our own families.
Telephone calls to our staff will always be answered promptly and politely. Trained staff aims to respond to urgent calls made to our after-hours call service within 15 minutes, 24 hours per day. We recognize the special relationship between attending physicians and their patients and we offer to provide those physicians regular patient status reports on any schedule they request.
We encourage feedback from our patients, families, facilities and physicians to ensure we are meeting our service commitment and making appropriate changes to meet patient needs we serve.
Our Mission
Our Mission Statement
To provide quality care first and foremost to those entrusted to us who are in the final stages of life. Through efficient, dignified, and knowledge-based care, we will have an effective outcome for the individuals, families, and caregivers we are blessed to serve. This mission provides a reward that cannot be measured and places pride within each employee, manager, director, and board member who is associated with this company.
Our History
Meyer C and Ida Miller were long-time Tulsans dedicated to family and “Tikum Olam” (Repair of the world). They were active community members, always doing their part to improve the quality of life in this community. Following in their footsteps, Bruce and Brenda Magoon are proud to continue the tradition of “Honoring thy Father and Mother” by dedicating “Miller Hospice” in memory of Meyer C & Ida Miller. Miller Hospice has had the privilege of serving the Tulsa community for 17 years. Collectively our Miller Hospice staff has over 400 years of experience serving patients and families during this special time.
